A cordial welcome to the Austrian Council Presidency!
Our motto "Partnership for a Social Future" will accompany you during this period.
With it, we would like to express that we support a fair economic and above-all social future for the people and that we strive to create the necessary framework.
Economic growth and employment with full labour protection, guaranteeing social security while strengthening the citizens’ responsibility for self-support, promoting and enhancing the position of families and the reconciliation of family and working lives are key objectives of our proactive social policy.
We are aware of the fact that the great social challenges ahead can only be met by joining forces. To address the needs and concerns of the people in Europe as a reliable partner, we are firmly committed to a close partnership with the European Union!
